The difference between the knitted fabric and the woven fabric.

Dec 01, 2017

1) The structure of fabric:

(A) Knitted fabric is made of yarn sequentially bent into coils, and the coils are interwoven to form fabric. The process of yarn forming coil is horizontal or vertical. Transverse weaving is called weft knitted fabric, while longitudinal knitting is called warp knitted fabric.

(B) Woven fabric: it is made up of two or more than two sets of vertical yarns, which are woven together by weft and weft at 90 degree angles. The longitudinal yarns are called warp yarns, and the transverse yarns are called weft yarns.

2) The basic unit of fabric structure:

(A) Knitted fabric: the coil is the smallest basic unit of knitwear, and the coil is composed of a loop and a space curve.

(B) Woven fabric: each intersecting point between the warp and the weft is called the tissue point, the smallest basic unit of the shuttle fabric.

3) Fabric characteristics:

(A): Since the coil is the yarn knitted fabric in space and bent, and each coil is composed of a single yarn knitted fabric, when external tension, such as longitudinal tensile, bending coil changes, and the coil height also increased, while the line width of the ring if the tension is decreased, the transverse tensile, contrast, coil height and width in different tension conditions, obviously can be converted to each other, thus extending the knitted fabric.

(B) Woven fabrics: because some bend, warp and weft weaving and bending in? Perpendicular to the plane of the fabric direction, mutual tension between the bending degree and weft yarn, and the yarn stiffness, when woven by external tension, such as longitudinal tensile, warp tension increases. Bend is reduced, and the increase of weft bending, such as longitudinal tensile warp stop, until fully extended, while the fabric was lateral contraction. When the fabric is stretched by external tension, weft tension increases, bending decreases, and warp bending increases, such as transverse tension, until the weft yarn is fully stretched, while the fabric is longitudinally contracted. By the way, the weft does not change, and is different from the knitted fabric.

4) Features of fabric organization:

(A) Knitted fabric: can be extended in all directions, good elasticity, because the knitted fabric is formed by a hole shaped coil, has a large air permeability, feel soft.

(B) Woven fabric: there is little relation between the extension and shrinkage of the weft and the contraction because of the shuttle fabric, so the fabric is generally tight and hard.

5) Physical and mechanical properties of fabric tissue:

(A) Knitted fabric: physical and mechanical properties of fabrics, including vertical density, horizontal density, square Mick weight, extensibility, flexibility, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, curling, thickness, raveling, shrinkage, coverage and density.

(B) Woven fabrics: physical and mechanical properties of woven fabrics, including warp and weft yarn density, edge, positive and negative, reverse the direction of hair, fabric cover.
