Jakarta International Port --shut Down

Aug 04, 2017

Indonesia's largest port - Jakarta International Container Terminal JICT will be held in the August 3 -10 during the 8-day strike, then the entire Jakarta container terminal or will be completely shut down!

Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) is Indonesia's largest container port, is also Indonesia's national hub port, connecting Jakarta and West Java industrial powerhouse.

The strike at the largest port in Indonesia will have a significant impact on the import and export of Indonesian maritime cargo.

One of the reasons for this strike was that the dockers' bonuses in 2016 were 42.5 percent lower than in 2015!

Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, chairman of the Indonesian Logistics and Agents Association (ALFI), said the strike was a worker's right, but the strike also affected the workers' own interests.
