Japan Has Launched A Trade War Against South Korea, With More Than 50,000 South Korean Businesses Pulling Japanese Goods From Their Shelves

Jul 22, 2019

According to a report by chinanews.com on July 17, a trade dispute between Japan and South Korea has been simmering as the two countries step up inspection and control of semiconductor materials exported to South Korea.

In response, south koreans have become increasingly hostile to Japan, with many shopping malls and supermarkets launching "boycott campaigns" against Japanese goods.

Sales at UNIQLO, a Japanese clothing brand, and muji, a grocery brand, also fell sharply as a result.
